The prosecutor's office of the Arbazhsky District received information that illegal logging had been carried out on one of the forest plots. A criminal case was opened in this regard under Article 260 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation. Prosecutors established that the unlawful cutting occurred due to the lessee's failure to ensure proper control during the on-site development of the forest and timber harvesting. As a result, the prosecutor filed a claim in court demanding that the lessee pay compensation to the municipal budget for the damage caused to the forest fund of the Russian Federation. The court found the claims lawful and justified and ordered the lessee to pay compensation.
