Men in Kirov transfer their number together with their tariff more often than women.

Two months ago MegaFon became the first on the telecom market to introduce the ability to switch to an operator not only while keeping your number but also with your familiar service terms. Since then it has been used in all regions of the country, but the greatest interest in "mobile cloning" came from residents of Moscow and the Moscow Region, St. Petersburg and the Leningrad Region, Chechnya, Bashkortostan and Tatarstan. Residents of the Kirov Region are also interested in this option, and the region ranks in the middle of the list alongside the Kaliningrad, Astrakhan and Ulyanovsk Regions.

According to anonymized data analyzed by MegaFon's analysts, men proved to be the most decisive when it comes to changing operators — they submitted such requests 1.5 times more often than women. Subscribers aged 35–44 use this option most actively — they account for 30% of all transfers that retain the tariff. Next are residents aged 45–55 (20%) and 25–34 (19%), which indicates broad demand across different age groups — from younger audiences to mature consumers who value predictable expenses and service quality.

Interestingly, 37% of customers who switched while retaining their tariff immediately became organizers of family groups. MegaFamily owners can add relatives and loved ones to the group, even if they live in different regions, and share service packages with them. Thus, the trend toward family consumption of services became another incentive to switch operators.

"We have made switching to MegaFon as simple and convenient as possible. Now customers can choose the operator with the best coverage and internet speed while keeping their number, their familiar tariff and its price. This format proved relevant across the country from Kaliningrad to Vladivostok — it reflects how sought-after genuine freedom of choice is in the telecom market," said Maria Faustova, Director of MegaFon's B2C Products Department.

To arrange a transfer, simply go to the service page on MegaFon's website and upload a screenshot of your tariff. After verification the customer receives a promo code that can be entered in the "I have a promo code" field or shown to a store employee when obtaining a SIM card.

Russians aged 35–44 have become the most active group of customers to port their tariff plan when switching from another operator. At the same time, about 40% of these customers not only continue to use their usual plan terms but also become organizers of family groups and share service packages with relatives, MegaFon analytics show.
