FSIN officers were forced to stand on nails.

According to the press service of the Federal Penitentiary Service of Russia for the Kirov region, employees of the penal enforcement system have begun mastering the ancient Indian practice Sadhu to combat stress. It includes, in particular, standing on a board with nails — an exercise that helps people step out of their comfort zone and understand their capabilities.

As Anastasia Shamanskaya, a psychologist at Pre-Trial Detention Center No. 2 of the Federal Penitentiary Service of Russia for the Kirov region, said, the method is aimed at overcoming internal tension and developing mindfulness. During a session an employee steps out of their comfort zone, learns to accept stressful situations and cope with them without panic.

According to the psychologist, such a practice helps employees learn to process stress appropriately, concentrate better and handle pressure.
