      As Alexander Khinshtein, governor of the Kursk Region, wrote on his Telegram channel, Avgusta Demidovna was born on October 11, 1925, in the Kirov Region, where she graduated from the Khalturinskoye Medical School. In 1942 she began working as a nurse in a military hospital, and a year later she was drafted into the active army. The front-line veteran served until 1946; after the war she moved to the Kursk Region and worked as a nurse at the Lgov Central District Hospital, devoting several decades to the profession. For her work, Karlysheva was awarded the title "Veteran of Labour." "Avgusta Karlysheva is an example of the courage and resilience of a generation that gave us peace and rebuilt the country after the war. From the bottom of my heart I congratulate the birthday celebrant on her 100th birthday and wish her good health," the governor wrote.
