A fatal bus crash has exposed problems in the work of the traffic police in Podosinovsky District.
On August 3, 2025, a road traffic accident occurred on the Podosinovets–Pinyug highway: a VAZ-2121 passenger car collided with a PAZ passenger bus. The driver of the car sustained fatal injuries. After photos and information about the incident were made public, it sparked widespread public outcry.
The Podosinovsky District Prosecutor's Office conducted an inspection and found that preventive work by traffic police (GIBDD) officers had declined, which was reflected in an increase in the number of road accidents resulting in injuries and deaths. Shortcomings were also noted in administrative practices regarding drivers evading the payment of fines.
In this regard, the prosecutor submitted a representation to the head of the Russian Interior Ministry's Luzsky District Department (OMVD "Luzsky"). Oversight of the situation on the region's roads continues.
