In Omutninsky District, a granddaughter rescued her 93-year-old grandmother from a burning house.
This morning in the village of Pletenyovskaya in the Omutninsky District a residential house caught fire. At that moment an elderly homeowner and her adult granddaughter were inside.
The fire broke out in an extension, blocking the way to the exit. The rooms quickly began to fill with smoke. The granddaughter kept her wits about her: she helped her grandmother gather their belongings and get out through a window to the street.
No one was injured. Twelve personnel from the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations and three vehicles arrived at the scene and extinguished the fire over an area of 56 square meters.
"Presumably, the fire started because of deteriorated electrical wiring. Samples of it have been taken for examination," said Mikhail Buldakov, head of the Department of Supervisory Activities and Preventive Work.
