Since the beginning of the year, 94 children have been injured in traffic accidents on the roads of Kirov.
According to the press service of the State Traffic Inspectorate department for the Kirov Region, the most accident-prone days of the week were Wednesday and Saturday. Drivers under the influence pose a particular danger — 32 accidents were caused by them. Most often accidents are related to collisions between vehicles — 7 people were killed in such incidents and 371 were injured. Every third accident involves a collision with pedestrians, in which 5 people were killed and 171 were injured. Most fatal pedestrian incidents occurred at night, and almost all of the victims were not wearing reflective elements on their clothing. In addition, since the beginning of the year 94 children have been injured on the roads of Kirov. Most often the children injured in car accidents were pedestrians. In Nagorsk a drunk driver without a license ran over and killed an 18-year-old woman. After the death of a 19-year-old woman the prosecutor’s office found violations in the work of the Malmyzh traffic police. After the high-profile accident involving a bus and a passenger car in the Orlovsky District the prosecutor’s office identified violations by the carrier and the traffic police.
