Dolgikh: "I can literally go crazy"
As we reported earlier, today in Kirov the court was due to read the indictment in the criminal case against lawyer Anton Dolgikh. The hearing was originally postponed until 10:10 to wait for the only lawyer who could appear in court — Violetta Volkova — as her plane had arrived late. However, the hearing was repeatedly postponed after that. Finally, Volkova appeared in court. She said the flight had been delayed and then they had been kept on the plane for a long time. The court bailiff replied that he understood. "These are difficult times," he commented before the hearing began. Dolgikh's wife, Tatyana Makarova, also came to court. In a conversation with her he asked her to get another lawyer to speed up the process, but they failed to reach an agreement. Dolgikh delivered a fairly emotional speech, pleading with them not to drag out the investigation. "Shorten my suffering," he said. "I could literally go crazy."
