Passengers in Novovyatsk complained about overcrowding on buses.
Today, October 2, employees of the Kirov administration’s transport department inspected bus operations in the Novovyatsky District, the city administration’s press service reported. The inspection was prompted by complaints from Kirov residents about the transfer route operating during construction of a tunnel under the Trans-Siberian Railway.
According to the head of the department, Aleksey Mikryukov, the buses began operating on time: from 6:40 a.m. to 7:30 a.m. vehicles departed from the terminus according to schedule, and headways did not exceed 10 minutes. However, passengers note that there still aren’t always enough seats on board, as buses arrive overcrowded.
The carrier has already increased the number of buses from four to six, which has partially solved the problem; however, it is currently impossible to deploy higher-capacity vehicles: Lineynaya Street is too narrow for large buses to pass safely. Authorities say they will work out other options.
Residents also complained about the lack of lighting on Lineynaya Street, where passengers transfer to routes No. 46, 52 and 87. The head of the transport department has taken the matter under his personal control. Today they promised to check bus operations during the evening rush hour at the "District Court" stop.
