A resident of the Orichevsky District will have the money stolen by scammers returned to her.

      The Prosecutor’s Office of the Orichevsky District defended the rights of an 85‑year‑old local resident who became a victim of fraudsters. The pensioner lost 50,000 rubles, which is a significant sum for her.

      It turned out that the money had been transferred to the account of a money mule living in the Smolensk Region for subsequent cashing out. Since the elderly woman, due to her age and difficult life circumstances, could not defend her interests in court on her own, the prosecutor filed a lawsuit to recover from the money mule the above sum and interest for the use of another person’s funds.

      The court upheld the prosecutor’s claims. The office promised to ensure that the decision is enforced.
