Oleg Valenchuk congratulated veterans on the holiday of wisdom and respect.
Activists of veterans' organizations from the Leninsky District of the Kirov Region took part in the ceremonial event. The celebration, filled with respect, wisdom and heartfelt generosity, became a vivid reflection of the active life of people of the silver age.
Activists were presented with letters of appreciation from State Duma deputy Oleg Valenchuk for their significant personal contribution to the development of the veterans' movement and their active civic engagement. The veterans, many of whom cannot imagine their lives without their beloved six-hundred-square-meter garden plots, gladly performed the gardeners' anthem. This has already become a good tradition at such celebrations. It is not accidental, because gardening for many of them is not just a hobby but a whole philosophy of life. Every year Oleg Valenchuk and the veterans' organizations carry out a number of important projects aimed at supporting and developing gardening. Among them are: "Seeds of the Gardeners' Union," "Gardens of Memory" and "Let's Adorn the Motherland with Flowers!"
"You are a reliable support for your families, passing on to your children and grandchildren priceless experience, wisdom, life values and traditions. The younger generation learns from you the ability to work the native soil and a positive attitude to life," Oleg Valenchuk said. "On this day we say thank you for everything: for your labor valor, for raising worthy citizens, for preserving the memory of the Great Victory and for your active civic stance. I wish you strong health, longevity, family well‑being, joy and success in all your endeavors."
As Irina Shubina, Chairwoman of the Kirov Regional Council, noted, for several years now, together with Oleg Valenchuk, the district and the city of Kirov have successfully held the "Vyatka — Hardy Gardeners" review-competition, which attracts a large number of veterans. They all showcase their abundant harvests. But not only growing produce is their pride — the veterans also make many home preserves, turning their harvest into delicious jams, pickles and other delicacies.
And here everyone present was surprised by Larisa Kopysova, Chairwoman of the veterans' organization of the city of Kirov, who canned about 400 jars this year. Larisa Anatolyevna noted that she is ready to share her secrets of a successful harvest and preserving techniques, and to inspire many to new achievements in gardening.
