Hydrometeorological Center: Winter in Russia will be colder than last year's.

      According to the forecast published for the period from October 2025 to March 2026, residents of several regions should prepare for lower temperatures than a year earlier as early as November. It will be colder than usual in the northern parts of the Central and Volga Federal Districts, in the Northwestern Federal District, in the north of the Urals, and in the northern and central areas of Siberia. In December, the monthly average temperature across almost the entire country will be lower than in 2024. January 2026 will be especially cold in the European part of Russia, as well as in the central and southern regions of the Urals and Siberia. In February, the cold will persist in the north of Krasnoyarsk Krai and the west of Yakutia. Nevertheless, March will bring a respite: according to meteorologists, over most of the country the air temperature in the first spring month will be above normal.
