The Ministry of Industry and Trade published the first list of cars for use as taxis.
As Kommersant writes, the list includes 22 models from six brands: Lada, UAZ, Sollers, Evolute, Voyah and Moskvich.
The list includes:
Lada: Granta, Iskra, Vesta, Aura, Largus, Niva Legend, Niva Travel;
UAZ: Patriot, Hunter;
Sollers: SP7;
Evolute: I-PRO, I-JOY, I-SKY, I-JET, I-SPACE;
Voyah: Free, Dream, Passion;
Moskvich: 3, 3e, 6, 8.
From March 1, 2026, all taxi companies and drivers will be required to operate only vehicles that meet the new requirements. A vehicle must either reach the established level of localization (3,200 points for state procurement) or be produced under a special investment contract (SPIC) concluded in 2022–2025.
According to the RSPP, the changes could hit the industry hard: up to 200,000 drivers (about 20% of the total) risk losing the ability to work in taxis, as their vehicles do not meet the localization criteria.
