As of the 39th week of this year, a decrease in the number of acute respiratory viral infection (ARVI) cases was recorded in Kirov Oblast compared with the previous period. Despite this, the weekly epidemic threshold for the region's population remains slightly exceeded. Rospotrebnadzor specialists note that non-influenza viruses continue to circulate in the region. At the same time, vaccination, carried out in September–November, remains the primary means of protection against influenza. It should be noted that more than 224,000 local residents have already been vaccinated, including over 85,000 children.
