In 2024, residents of Kirov most often vacationed in Turkey and Krasnodar Krai.
According to Kirovstat, 160 travel companies operated in the region in 2024. They served 72.8 thousand clients. More than half of them — 41.3 thousand residents of the region (57%) — chose to holiday within the country.
Altogether Kirov residents visited 52 Russian regions. The most popular destinations were Krasnodar Krai (10.7 thousand tourists), Tatarstan (5.7 thousand), Moscow (3.5 thousand), Saint Petersburg (2.8 thousand) and Nizhny Novgorod Oblast (2.6 thousand). In the Kirov region itself, 5.3 thousand people took package-tour vacations, of whom 1.6 thousand were local residents.
Abroad, 31.4 thousand Kirov residents traveled in 2024 — 40% more than in 2023. The leader among foreign destinations was again Turkey, where 13.4 thousand people holidayed (43% of all those who went abroad). Also in demand were Egypt (7.1 thousand), the UAE (3 thousand), Abkhazia (2.9 thousand), Thailand (1.8 thousand) and Cuba (0.7 thousand).
Interest in new countries grew noticeably: the number of trips to Qatar increased 13.5 times, to China — 10 times, to Cyprus — 8.5 times, to Vietnam — 6.6 times. Kirov residents also resumed travel to Bulgaria, Hungary, Morocco and Croatia and discovered Bahrain and Ghana for the first time. Over the year, residents of the region visited 43 countries.
