According to Governor Alexander Sokolov, last week President Vladimir Putin signed a number of documents. Among other things, they included the names of Kirov residents.
Thus, for merits in the field of science and many years of fruitful activity, the president decided to award Tamara Ashikhmina, a well-known Kirov environmentalist, public figure, and professor at VyatSU, the Second Class Medal of the Order "For Merit to the Fatherland." Sokolov noted that her total work experience amounts to 58 years and that her research activities are related to chemistry, ecology, geoecology, and the training of highly qualified personnel.
Putin also awarded the Second Class Medal of the Order "For Merit to the Fatherland" to Svetlana Shumailova, Deputy Chair of the Government of the Kirov Region. She was recognized for her active participation in the preparation and holding of important events. The governor said that this primarily concerns the celebration of Kirov's 650th anniversary. He called her a person who cares about the problems of Kirov residents and who has worked for many years for the benefit of the region. In addition, the aforementioned award was received by Boris Kopenkin, Sokolov's press secretary.
The title "Honored Worker of Healthcare of the Russian Federation" was conferred on Alexander Sobolev, chief physician of Hospital No. 7, who headed it for 17 years and also worked in other medical organizations. The title "Honored Worker of Local Self-Government of the Russian Federation" went to Nadezhda Torkhova, the administrative manager of the Kirov administration (formerly deputy head of the TU for the Pervomaisky District). Finally, the president expressed gratitude for labor achievements and many years of conscientious work to an employee of a branch of Russian Railways.
