A resident of Luza brutally killed a friend and attempted to hide in the Arkhangelsk Region.

      On the evening of September 21, 2025, law enforcement received a report of the discovery in a house on Engels Street in the town of Luza of the body of a 51-year-old man showing signs of violent death.

      According to the regional Investigative Committee, a 49-year-old resident of Luza, while drunk, was visiting an acquaintance. At some point a verbal argument broke out between them, and the 49-year-old stabbed the victim in the neck and left forearm. He then struck his friend on the head with a log. The latter died from his injuries, and the killer fled the scene. In addition, the Luza resident attempted to evade law enforcement by leaving Kirov Oblast. The perpetrator was detained in the city of Kotlas, Arkhangelsk Oblast.

      The suspect was detained under Article 91 of the Criminal Procedure Code of the Russian Federation, and he has been charged with committing an especially serious crime. A criminal case has been initiated against the man on suspicion of the offense specified in Part 1 of Article 105 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (murder). The investigation intends to petition the court to remand the accused in custody. All circumstances of the incident are currently being established, and the evidentiary base is being gathered and preserved.
