The Rosselkhoznadzor Office for the Kirov Region recently issued a warning to a resident of the Tuzhinsky District about the inadmissibility of violating mandatory requirements of veterinary legislation.

As the agency explained, in August of this year the Office received a complaint from a woman living in the Tuzhinsky District. The woman reported that bees were being kept on a neighboring property in violation of the law.

In early September the Office carried out an on-site inspection of the citizen’s personal subsidiary farm and found that his apiary had a continuous fence two meters high. However, it was determined that the owner of this apiary had not conducted diagnostic examinations and treatment of the bees against contagious diseases in accordance with veterinary legislation.

“These facts indicate a violation of the Law of the Russian Federation ‘On Veterinary Medicine’ and the Veterinary Rules for the keeping of honey bees for the purposes of their reproduction, breeding, sale and use for the pollination of agricultural entomophilous plants and the production of beekeeping products,” the Office reported.
