NTech: If prices rise sharply, Russia's food market will fall by 5%.

The publisher "Samara Online 24", citing a study by NTech, reported that according to analysts, Russians will first start cutting back on seafood, beverages, fruits and vegetables — their sales in physical volume could fall by 12–16%. Sales of tropical fruits (−57%), ground meat (−42%) and seafood (−25%) will decline especially sharply.

At the same time, only three categories from the basic food basket will show positive dynamics: grocery items (+16%), eggs (+9%) and dairy products (+3%). Sales of pasta (+51%), sugar (+28%) and surimi — the so‑called "crab sticks" (+35%) — are expected to increase.

The study was conducted in May–June 2025 and about 2,400 households from across the country took part.
