In 2025 the most vacancies were posted for electricians — over 37,000. Welders (18,000) and general laborers (13,500) were also in demand. The geographic spread of demand covers the entire country: leading are Moscow (11,000 vacancies) and Bashkortostan (10,000). Regions with the greatest personnel shortages included Krasnodar Krai, Tatarstan, Saint Petersburg and the Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Okrug (KhMAO).

The highest salaries in the industry are currently offered to geologists — 174,000 rubles per month (+24,000 year-on-year). Second are surveyors (160,000), third are machine operators (154,000).

Analysts note that the oil and gas sector is gradually becoming more open to women: the number of interview invitations for them increased by 14% over six months. However, the sector remains predominantly male: two-thirds of employees are men. There also remains a gap in salary expectations: women expect on average 72,000 rubles, men — at least 116,000.
