44% of Kirov residents oppose fines and dismissals for flirting at work.
Parliamentarians recently began talking about introducing strict sanctions for married employees who allow themselves “liberties.” However, the public greeted the proposal with bewilderment. Only 22% of those surveyed supported the idea, while 34% found it difficult to answer. Among the arguments against it were the lack of clear criteria for the concept of “flirting” and the belief that employees’ personal relationships should not be the employer’s concern.
Resistance to the proposal increases with respondents’ age: while 30% of people under 35 oppose it, among those over 45 opposition rises to 46%. Men are more likely than women to oppose punishments (54% versus 35%). At the same time, single women criticize the initiative just as actively as single men.
