In Kirov, bank employees saved a pensioner from transferring 3 million to scammers.

At the Kirov branch of the Russian Interior Ministry, bank employees Olga Syuzeva and Olga Chirkova were honored for preventing a major fraud. Thanks to their vigilance, a 78-year-old city resident did not lose his savings.

According to the police, strangers called the pensioner on a messaging app, claiming to be his former boss and an FSB officer. The elderly man was told about an alleged threat, after which he was persuaded to withdraw money and transfer it to a “protected account.”

When the Kirov resident went to the bank, his behavior alerted the staff. They suspected he might be acting on instructions from scammers and immediately contacted the police. In the end, their joint efforts succeeded in convincing the man not to transfer 3.2 million rubles to the account details specified by the perpetrators.
