Chicken in Russia may become more expensive by the end of 2025.
In the second half of 2025, chicken meat in Russia could become 15–25% more expensive. This forecast was voiced in an interview with Gazeta.Ru by Lyuza Baiguzina, Candidate of Economic Sciences and associate professor at IMES.
According to her, the main reason for the price increase is a sharp rise in feed costs, which has already reached 70%. Additional pressure is exerted by a 20% increase in utility tariffs. These factors may remain relevant in the second half of 2025, given inflationary trends and overall market conditions, the expert notes.
According to NTech monitoring, by July chicken prices had already risen noticeably: wholesale broiler carcasses were up 18% year-on-year, fillets by 24%, and mechanically separated meat mince by as much as 40%.
