Natalia and Dmitry Veprikov live in the village of Chernaya Kholunitsa in the Omutninsky District. They have five children, and the eldest is Alexander. In July of this year he turned 17.

In November of last year their family home burned down. When the fire broke out, the older brother was watching the younger sisters. The boy called his 14-year-old sister, then carried the two 5-year-old girls in his arms and led them all out of the burning house, leaving them in a safe place. After that the teenager returned to the burning house for shoes, belongings and documents. This time he had to get out through a window.

Rescue workers from the Ministry of Emergency Situations (EMERCOM) arrived at the scene and extinguished the blaze. Unfortunately, the house burned down completely, but thanks to Sasha’s brave actions a major tragedy was avoided.

Today, September 5, Acting Head of the Investigative Department of the Investigative Committee of Russia for Kirov Oblast Maksim Kozlov met with the boy and his mother. The teenager said that this year he finished the 9th grade and enrolled in the Omutninsky Polytechnic College. Sasha continues to be active in sports and plays football.

Maksim Sergeyevich wished Alexander excellent studies and success in achieving his goals, and presented him with a letter of appreciation from the Chairman of the Investigative Committee of Russia, A. I. Bastrykin, for the feat he performed and for the bravery and courage he showed in a difficult life situation.
