The Ministry of Environmental Protection completed an unscheduled inspection of LLC "Pasegovskoye Water and Sewer Utility". The company is responsible for treating the domestic wastewater of the residents of the settlement of Pasegovo and the wastewater from the local dairy plant, which are then discharged into the Chakhlovitsa River. Specialists inspected the treatment facilities, the discharge site, and examined a section of the river. Laboratory analyses showed elevated concentrations of pollutants both in the wastewater and in the river itself. The company will be held administratively liable. Damage caused to the Chakhlovitsa River will also be assessed. The ministry added that the organization is already implementing measures to improve the operation of the treatment facilities, but this has proven insufficient.
