In Kirov, the investigation of a criminal case into the sale of unregistered medicines has been completed. Officers of the Economic Security and Anti-Corruption Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for the Kirov Region, together with a SOBR unit of the National Guard, put an end to the illegal activities of a Kirov resident born in 1989. The man’s actions were qualified as crimes under Part 1.1 of Article 238.1 (sale of unregistered medicinal products on a large scale committed using the Internet), and under Part 3 of Article 30 and Part 1.1 of Article 238.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (attempted sale of unregistered medicinal products on a large scale committed using the Internet).
It was established that the Kirov resident had been engaged in illegal activity since November 2022: he organized the import into Russia of unregistered potency-enhancing medicines. He then sold these products using pages created on the Internet.
Police officers found and seized in the man’s car and at his residence medicinal products of various names with a total value of 280,000 rubles, a smartphone and a laptop that were used to sell the products, as well as cash suspected to have been obtained by criminal means.
Through cooperation between the police and the investigative authorities a comprehensive evidentiary base establishing the Kirov resident’s guilt in the charged offense was assembled. Upon completion of the investigation the criminal case was referred to court for consideration on the merits.
