The annual inflation rate in Kirov Oblast reached 9.8 percent.

      In July prices in Kirov Oblast rose by an average of 0.3%. Annual inflation has been declining for the fourth month in a row; last month it reached 9.8%. Food prices fell the most in July (-0.7%). This mainly concerned vegetables and fruits. The reason was the arrival of the new domestic harvest on store shelves. Sugar and chicken eggs also became cheaper. Prices for the former fell because producers sought to sell off their stocks, and for the latter due to increased production. Non-food goods overall became more expensive. In particular, fuel prices rose. This is due to increased demand and the closure of some refineries for repairs. At the same time, washing machines, televisions and smartphones became cheaper, aided by the strengthening of the ruble and a cooling of consumer activity. As for services, prices also increased. Utilities rose most noticeably due to tariff indexation.
