In July, 21 road accidents involving wild animals were recorded in the region. Eighteen of them involved moose; three were collisions. Four people were injured. The accidents occurred in the following districts: Afanasyevsky, Bogorodsky, Zuevsky, Kiknursky, Kirovo-Chepetsky, Kotelnichsky, Kumensky, Svechinsky, Sovetsky, Urzhumsky, Yuryansky and Yaransky.
The press service of the Ministry of Environmental Protection of the Kirov Region reminded how to avoid such accidents:
observe the speed limit
outside the city, use high beams if there are no oncoming vehicles
fog lights will help you see the shoulder better
be especially careful near the "Wild animals" sign and where the forest comes close to the road
do not honk if you see an animal on the shoulder — it is better to pass slowly or stop.
