A teenager spent almost 30,000 rubles from an acquaintance's card.
The press service of the Kirov Region judicial system reported on the theft of funds from an acquaintance’s bank card by a minor. It turned out that the plaintiff himself had given the card to the teenager so that he could buy ice cream and lemonade.
“After that the teenager did not return the bank card to the owner, and over the course of several days, until the funds on the card were exhausted, made purchases using this bank card, thus spending more than 29,000 rubles,” the agency writes.
Initially the plaintiff requested that a criminal case be opened under paragraph “g” of Part 3 of Article 158 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (theft from a bank account), but this was refused because the teenager had not reached the age of criminal responsibility, so the claim was brought against the accused’s parents.
During the hearing the plaintiff’s losses were fully compensated before the court’s decision. The plaintiff’s claim for compensation for moral damages was also denied, as no evidence was presented that the defendant’s actions had caused him any moral harm.
