Autostat: 40% of the used car market — cars priced under 500,000 rubles.
According to Avtostat experts, almost 40% of the used-car market consists of cars costing less than 500,000 rubles. AvtoVAZ models, in particular the "Klassika", as well as front-wheel-drive models aged 10 to 20 years, are in strong demand among Russians on the used market. Within the 500,000-ruble range there are a sufficient number of foreign cars from the 2000s. As a rule, such cars have mileage of 200,000–300,000 kilometers.
The most popular model in this category is the first- and second-generation Ford Focus. Korean models Kia Rio and Hyundai Solaris began selling from the early 2010s, and their prices, depending on the year of manufacture, range from 564,000 rubles (2010 model) to 840,000 rubles (2014 model).
The segment from 500,000 to 1 million rubles accounts for a quarter of the used-car market. At the same time, cars costing more than 1 million rubles account for 36% of the used-car market. But in monetary terms this segment represents 75% of the entire used-car market.
