Residents of a building in Lyangasovo have been unsuccessfully trying to get the roof repaired.

At house No. 6 on Gorky Street in Lyangasovo the roof has been leaking for three years. Local residents report leaks in kitchens and rooms, stains on the ceilings and the threat of mold. People fear that the damp will damage the wooden frames, the windows will stop opening and living will become unsafe.

In the spring water poured into one family's apartment directly through the ventilation. Going up to the attic they saw that the slate had holes through which the sky was visible. When it rains, water enters the building unimpeded.

In 2021 the building underwent a major roof repair that cost 460,000 rubles. The work included partial replacement of the rafters, battens, dormer windows, parapets and slate roofing. However, just a year after the repair leaks reappeared.

Residents asked for help, but the contractor and the management company are taking no measures. In response to a request from the People's Front, the city administration stated that the management company had received no complaints from residents and that there were no problems with the building.

The People's Front is convinced that the situation cannot be resolved without an independent inspection. It should show whether the leaks are related to the repair work carried out. That will determine who is obliged to fix the problem — the contractor under warranty or the management company at the residents' expense. However, the management company is in no hurry to deal with this, so activists have sent an appeal to the prosecutor's office.
