In Kirov, a fraudulent seller of an OSAGO policy was convicted.

      In November 2023, during correspondence in a messaging app, a man deceived a resident of Kirov by promising, for a monetary reward of 16,500 rubles, to arrange an OSAGO insurance policy. In fact, the perpetrator had no intention of fulfilling the terms of the agreement and used the money for his own purposes.

      A criminal case was opened against the 40-year-old Kirov resident, who had previously been convicted twice for fraud and misappropriation of property (Articles 159 and 160 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation). He was found guilty under Part 1 of Article 159 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (fraud).

      The court agreed with the prosecutor and, taking into account the gravity of the offense, as well as personal circumstances, restitution of the material damage caused to the victim, the presence of a minor child dependent on him, and other mitigating circumstances, sentenced the man to 400 hours of mandatory community service.
