Doctors in Kirov saved a 13-year-old girl's leg.
A 13-year-old girl was recently admitted to the psychoneurological department of the regional children's hospital with an abnormal gait and an inability to bend her leg. Doctors determined that the cause was neuropathy of the common peroneal (fibular) nerve, brought on by the habit of sitting with her legs crossed and by wearing tight shoes.
The girl's condition was serious; she experienced difficulty moving. Physicians prescribed a comprehensive treatment plan that included massage, physiotherapy, electrical stimulation, and therapeutic exercise. Thanks to these measures, leg function was restored and the teenager was returned to her normal life.
Experts note that timely consultation with a doctor plays a decisive role in such cases. They emphasize that even habits that seem harmless can lead to serious consequences if they are not addressed in time.
