The first batch of flu vaccine for adults has arrived in the Kirov region.
A vaccination campaign against influenza has begun in Kirov Oblast. The first batch of adult vaccine has arrived at the pharmaceutical warehouse — 67,760 doses of the Flu-M and Sovigripp vaccines. They are currently being processed, and the vaccine will be available at polyclinics in the coming days.
According to the Ministry of Health, the vaccines are formulated to cover the virus strains expected in the upcoming epidemic season. Immunity after vaccination develops within two to four weeks and lasts for a year. The most suitable time for vaccination is late summer and early autumn.
In Kirov Oblast, plans call for vaccinating more than 540,000 residents, including over 427,000 adults. Priority groups include workers in healthcare, education, retail, transport and the social sector. Special attention is being given to protecting the elderly, pregnant women and patients with chronic conditions.
The region has already received the full supply of vaccine for children. Nearly 40,000 doses of Ultrix Quadri and more than 73,000 doses of Sovigripp are available.
