One such example is the building at 22b Surikova Street. It was built in 1968. It is not surprising that, over time, both the building and the yard gradually fell into disrepair.
– To change the situation, the residents banded together and began taking part in various competitions, – says the head of the building council, Elena Sedykh.
The result is striking: a fresh paved perimeter, tiled sidewalks, organized parking and a renovated façade. But the most impressive thing is the transformation of the neglected areas by the entrances. Weeds have given way to bright flowers, turning the space into a cozy, green oasis.
– Many residents of the neighboring buildings pass through our yard, – says Elena Borisovna. – Now many stop, admire it and say how beautiful it is here. So we tried to make sure that this beauty is constant: from early spring until late autumn. We created flower beds with continuous blooms. We really hope that the jury of the “Let’s Adorn the Motherland with Flowers” contest will appreciate our efforts.
