      The largest share of parents of schoolchildren was in Kazan (75%), Nizhny Novgorod (74.7%) and Tyumen (73.7%), and the smallest — in Voronezh (39.5%), Ufa (42.9%) and Chelyabinsk (44%).

      The highest spending on back-to-school preparations is recorded in Krasnodar (66.7% of parents spend over 30,000 rubles), Perm (57.1%) and Chelyabinsk (54.5%). The lowest expenses are in Volgograd (27.3%), Tyumen (28.6%) and Kazan (35.6%).

      Almost half of parents (48.1%) save in advance for school expenses, while 47.2% pay everything from their current budget. Families most often manage without savings or loans in Volgograd (81.8%), Chelyabinsk (77.3%) and Nizhny Novgorod (67.6%), and least often — in Kazan (39.1%), Samara (38.3%) and Novosibirsk (43.3%).

      Thus, preparing for school differs greatly across regions: in some places families are forced to save in advance, while in others they cope with current incomes, but the amounts spent vary by almost twofold.
