A truck driver was convicted of violating traffic rules that caused a person's death and the infliction of grievous bodily harm, the Ukhta City Court of the Komi Republic reported.

The court said the fatal accident occurred in November 2024. The man will be required to work at a correctional center. In addition, he was prohibited from engaging in activities related to operating vehicles for two years.

The court also decided to consider the victim’s civil claim for 2 million rubles in damages in accordance with civil procedure.
