Kirov Oblast is sixth from the bottom in road accident rates.

      The study was based on ranking regions by the number of traffic accidents with casualties from January to June this year per 100,000 motor vehicles. The ranking also includes data on the dynamics of traffic accidents with casualties and on the number of people injured in accidents per 100,000 inhabitants of the region.

      According to the ranking results, the lowest number of traffic accidents with casualties for the first half of 2025 was recorded in Chechnya, Tyumen Oblast and the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrug. Conversely, the highest accident rates were observed in Tuva, Kostroma Oblast and Kalmykia.

      As for Kirov Oblast, in the ranking—where the top positions are held by regions with the fewest accidents and the last ones by those with the most—it placed 79th out of 85. The number of accidents with casualties per 100,000 motor vehicles was 156.9. The number of people injured in traffic accidents per 100,000 inhabitants of the region was 81.7. At the same time, the change in the number of accidents with injured persons compared to January–June of last year was -4.3%.
