There will be no pension: Russians warned about the features of the pension schedule

From 2019 to 2022, the retirement age was increased by half a year annually, allowing citizens to retire each year. However, from 2023 to 2028, the retirement age will be increased by a full year. This means that mass retirements due to old age will occur in 2024, 2026, and 2028 — for example, for women born between 1966 and 1968 and men born between 1961 and 1963. This was announced by Alexander Safonov, a professor at the Financial University under the Government of the Russian Federation, in an interview with RIA Novosti. Retirement in 2025 will only be possible for privileged categories: disability, loss of breadwinner, state security, early insurance pension, as well as residents of new regions of Russia, explained RANEPA expert Marina Solodovnikova. In 2025, insurance pensions have already been indexed twice: on January 1 — by 7.3%, and additionally — by 9.5% on the president’s orders. Starting from 2026, indexation will be conducted twice a year — in February (based on inflation) and in April (considering Social Fund income). The indexation of pensions for working retirees has also been resumed, which will provide them with a more substantial increase in the future.
