Two counterfeit banknotes were found in the banking sector of the Kirov region.

      From April to June of this year, two counterfeit 1,000-ruble banknotes were identified in the region's banking sector. The Kirov branch of the Vologda-Vyatka Main Directorate of the Bank of Russia added that during the same period last year, three fake Bank of Russia banknotes were discovered: one 1,000-ruble note and two 5,000-ruble notes. Information about the security features of Russian banknotes is available on the Bank of Russia website in the "Cash Circulation" section, as well as in the "Banknotes of the Bank of Russia" app. The app cannot verify the authenticity of banknotes, but it can help learn to recognize the features of counterfeits that are identifiable by touch, visible when held up to light, through magnification, or controlled by changing the viewing angle.
