Documents, crutches, saw: what passengers have forgotten on trains this year

Between January and June of this year, employees of the Gorky Railway discovered and returned 2,600 items left behind by passengers on long-distance trains. Interestingly, most travelers forgot documents, electronic gadgets, clothing, and various accessories in the carriages. Among the unusual finds were a spinning rod, a circular saw, crutches, and tattoo equipment.

To locate and return forgotten items on the train, you need to fill out an electronic application on the OJSC "RZD" website in the "Services and Assistance" section. You must specify your name, ticket and passport numbers, as well as your phone number and email. Additionally, a description of the item and the approximate location in the carriage where it was left should be provided.

The service already has photographs of the found items linked to specific locations in the carriage, so if there is a match, the passenger will be able to recognize their item from the photo. After that, they will receive information about its location and be able to pick up their "lost" item. The GZhD press service added that the search for lost items is available for up to 30 days from the start of the long-distance journey.
