Kirov administration fined for a dangerous alley without sidewalks and lighting
Bazaev Lane in Kirov remains dangerous for pedestrians: over a 700-meter stretch lacks sidewalks, and street lighting is not functioning despite the installed lamps. People are forced to walk along the roadway with vehicles.
Previously, the road surface was repaired, but infrastructure for pedestrians was not provided at all. Public activists from the People's Front contacted the prosecutor's office and the traffic police. An inspection confirmed that the road poses a threat to pedestrians. A notice was issued to the head of the administration demanding the violation be addressed, but no measures were taken by the authorities.
As a result, the prosecutor's office filed a lawsuit, which obliged the administration to pay a fine of 100,000 rubles.
Whether this decision will motivate improvements remains unclear. The People's Front promised to keep the issue under control.
