Hackers announced a major attack on "Aeroflot": dozens of flights canceled

Hackers groups Silent Crow and "Cyberpartisans BY" claimed responsibility for the cyberattack on Aeroflot. According to their statements, the operation lasted about a year, during which they gained access to the company's corporate network, compromised all critical systems, and destroyed approximately 7,000 physical and virtual servers.

The hackers reported that they managed to copy 12 terabytes of data, including flight histories, information from employees' and management's personal computers, as well as data from surveillance and monitoring systems. "All these resources are now inaccessible or destroyed; recovery may require tens of millions of dollars. The damage is strategic," the statement published on Telegram said, according to Kommersant newspaper.

On the morning of July 28, Aeroflot officially announced a failure in its information system, without specifying its cause or how long it would take to resolve. As of the publication, 42 flights at Sheremetyevo Airport in Moscow had been canceled. Passengers are gathering in the terminals.

Following the incident, the Moscow prosecutor's office has initiated an investigation.
