A verdict has been passed for the Chepchan resident who shot a man in the eye.

      A terrible incident occurred in the morning of June 7th of last year near house №45 on Mira Avenue in Kirovo-Chepetsk. A conflict erupted between a 26-year-old Chepetsk resident and the victim. The cause was comments made by the man directed at young people nearby the house due to loud music. In response, intoxicated, the young man fired a gas pneumatic pistol of 4.5 mm caliber, model "Stalker S1911T," towards the 42-year-old victim. As a result, the victim sustained a penetrating wound that led to the removal of his left eyeball. Medically, this injury is classified as causing severe harm to health, life-threatening. A criminal case was initiated against the 26-year-old Chepetsk resident. He was convicted under Part 2, Clause 3 of Article 111 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (intentional infliction of serious harm dangerous to life, using an object used as a weapon). The court agreed with the prosecutor's opinion and found the defendant guilty. Considering his personal data, the severity of his actions, and the presence of an unserviced sentence under a previous conviction for Article 213 of the Criminal Code (hooliganism), the defendant was sentenced to three years of imprisonment in a general regime correctional colony.
