According to the department, last year, out of 776 families who received housing and improved their living conditions, 49.4% were orphans and children left without parental care. 10.6% of those who improved their housing conditions were young families, 9.7% were families living in emergency housing, 2.6% were families with disabled members and families with disabled children. Another 0.5% were large families, while 27.2% belonged to other categories of families.
A total of 183 families in the region improved their housing conditions through the purchase of housing, of which 133 used budget funds to buy an apartment. 71 families took advantage of mortgage credit when purchasing a residential property.
The total area of housing occupied by families was 29 thousand square meters, of which 7.5 thousand square meters were in new buildings. Under social rental agreements, 8 thousand square meters of housing were provided.
According to Kirovstat, during 2024, 865 families were registered in the Kirov region for the housing provision program. Due to obtaining or purchasing housing or for other reasons (such as deregistration requests, relocating to another residence, etc.), 2,073 families were deregistered.
"By the end of 2024, more than 20,000 families in the region were awaiting housing, three-quarters of whom had been on the waiting list for 10 or more years. Half of the families in need of housing are from the regional center," Kirovstat reported.
