Sixteen people died at work in the Kirov region.
According to the agency, in 2024, work-related accidents were recorded in 6.5% of the organizations surveyed by Kirovstat. The agency noted that compared to 2023, the number of injured workers decreased by 11. In 2024, 215 employees were injured at work.
According to Kirovstat, the majority of recorded cases (69%) were caused by the fault of the worker or employer. Two additional people were injured while under the influence of alcohol or drugs at the workplace. Sixteen people died as a result of a work-related accident.
Kirovstat reported that the most accident-prone sector in our region, based on the survey, is manufacturing (45% of the total injured). Every fifth injured worker was injured in organizations involved in agriculture, forestry, hunting, fishing, and aquaculture. Cases of injuries were also noted at transportation and storage enterprises (13%), and in organizations providing healthcare and social services (9%).
