Cat owners are more fortunate than dog owners: nearly 77% of lottery millionaires are cat people.

Cat lovers have been luckier than everyone else this year: among participants who became millionaires in the first half of 2025, cat owners are three times more likely to win than dog owners. Such statistics are reported by the National Lottery.

It turned out that almost 77% of winners who claimed over 1 million rubles keep cats at home. The owner of a ginger kitten from the Tyumen region won nearly 22 million rubles after his appearance in the family, while a resident of Vologda oblast won over 10 million after collecting fallen cat whiskers. An analogous 'whiskered' ritual also helped a teacher from Tatarstan win a million. A seller from Vladimir region believes that her double fluffy family also doubled her chances of luck.

Dog owners did not remain without luck either — a station attendant from the Krasnoyarsk region won 10 million shortly after getting a puppy. But the numbers still speak for themselves: whiskers and paws of cats are currently the main magnet for lottery millions.
