Kirov veterinarians saved the endangered Osprey.
The white-tailed eagle, listed in the Red Book of Russia, was handed over to Kirov veterinarians from the Omutninsky district. People noticed it on the side of a federal highway. The young predator was emaciated, weak, and unable to take off from the spot. Volunteers took it to Kirov.
Veterinarians from the Kirov State Veterinary Service examined the predator and took samples for dangerous diseases. The examination showed no visible injuries to the bird.
The government of the Kirov region reports that the eagle's health is currently not at risk. The bird is temporarily held at the wild animal rehabilitation center "Big Nest," where it will remain until fully recovered.
