A total of 2,800 cubic meters of infected wood were prevented from being exported by Rosselkhoznadzor specialists, intended for shipment to neighboring regions — Nizhny Novgorod and Vologda oblasts, as well as the Republic of Mari El.
One of the recent cases was recorded on July 3 in the Slobodskoy district. During inspection, 54 cubic meters of coniferous wood, Rosselkhoznadzor officers and specialists from the Kirov branch of VNIICKR found signs of infestation by fir and pine sawyer beetles. The larvae were alive.
Based on laboratory testing results, the cargo owner was issued a mandate: the infected wood must undergo mandatory chemical disinfection.
