Oleg Valenchuk's Gardeners' School held a flowerbed creation master class.

Creating a flowerbed is no easy task and requires certain knowledge, skills, and aesthetic taste. To support active Kirov residents interested in floriculture, the Oleg Valenchuk Gardeners’ School has launched special free courses in landscape design.

In winter, designer Nadezhda Perevozchikova explained to participants where to start and which factors to consider: lighting, soil type, seasonal decorativeness, color scheme, plant height, their number and arrangement in the flowerbed, as well as the presence of utilities under the flower bed.

During the training, the floral fairies (the participants were exclusively women) learned a wealth of important and useful information, got acquainted with new varieties and species of plants, and also arranged plant exchanges. In addition, each attendee developed their own yard design project to bring it to life in the spring.

But it’s one thing to draw the perfect flowerbed, and quite another to recreate that design in the ground. Here again, the Union of Gardeners of Russia stepped in to support the enthusiasts. On June 26, in the courtyard of 18 Nekrasova Street, Nadezhda Perevozchikova conducted a master class for everyone interested (ages 12+).

Those present were able to see firsthand the truth of the saying that “craft yields to the skilled.” Old bushes were instantly transformed into elegant decor, and stones lying on lawns became elements of borders. Nadezhda Perevozchikova explained that even with a limited budget, using only the plants brought by neighbors, it is possible to create a beautiful, well-kept flowerbed.

“The creation of a flowerbed by the entrance is a wonderful example of how a small project can unite neighbors, create a friendly atmosphere, and bring joy into daily life,” said Oleg Valenchuk, State Duma deputy and chairman of the Union of Gardeners of Russia. “It’s important for every participant to feel significant in this common cause. Don’t forget to involve children—they can add fun and creativity to the project! And the Union of Gardeners will continue to support those striving to improve their living environment.”

Let us recall that this year the competition for the best yard landscaping has been announced once again. All who are willing to express their creativity are welcome to participate. The winners will traditionally receive prizes—certificates to gardening stores. To participate, you need to upload photos and videos of your flowerbeds to the contest album and add a brief description.
